Project ME Banner

While I have the ability to customise my banner with the SemPress theme, I decided against showcasing my custom banner as it did not look as good with the current “Micaela Amabile Project ME” title above it, and if I were to remove the title the banner would look too low. Therefore, I chose to simply feature it in this post! So this is the banner I created in Photoshop…

Micaela Project ME Banner

As I have previously mentioned, I am a visual learner and love to take photos. The current photo I have in my banner is a favourite of mine that I took at the top of the Empire State Building in New York City. I thought incorporating elements of the image in circles created a bold look on the white background, whilst giving the perspective of looking at the city through a telescope. Each view acts like an advertisement for this amazing city.

In my previous post, I mentioned that I would use Open Sans and Droid Serif as fonts for titles and body text respectively. Unfortunately I was unable to use Open Sans for the title in the banner as it was not readily available in Photoshop, however I used Gisha which is similar as it is clean and simple in its design.

Trying to figure out Photoshop and manoeuvre between the different layers and images proved to be a challenge for me. However, the skills that I’ve acquired will be useful if I ever need to use Adobe Photoshop in the future.
